7.) I love this song coming after Maxx, because it contains Ron Mc and Ill Chemist. Ron is part of the oldest generation represented on this mix, and Maxx is part of the youngest. Ron was one of the first local rap artists I ever saw perform live, and everything about his work is designed for the live setting. This is much different than C.L.O.C. who has not performed live at all yet. Also, on this track is one of my best friends of all time and one of the all-time most creative local emcees who also has many years of stage experience, Derek “ill_chemist” Brooks. This guy comes from the Bru Records crew who represent the same kind of Native Tongues influence that helped people like myself and Trek 19 to keep pushing for an alternative to mainstream rap. I thought it was also cool to put this song after Maxx because Derek was one of the main volunteers teaching at TJ’s Hip Hop school, where Maxx was a student. www.backyardonline.com www.razormack.com www.myspace.com/ill_chemist
